V. S Kardam’s journey after completing his diploma in fine art spanned seven years, marked by profound learning. His diploma was the last batch, and due to strikes in college, the program extended to eight years. Post-diploma, a new era of art unfolded in his life. He remains eternally grateful to his exceptionally polite and humble teacher, Prof. Paramjeet Singh, for imparting knowledge with simplicity and creativity.
As an art teacher in the Delhi Government, V. S. Kardam dedicated himself to imparting his best and transmitting his learned skills to students, elevating art education to a higher echelon and establishing it as state-of-the-art education. Many of his students, under his tutelage, gained admission to college of art and other fine art colleges, and he provided them with a college-level understanding, paving the way for their futures in the fine art field. Consequently, his students evolved into accomplished artists.
While his personal journey in art continued, accumulating accolades such as the National Award, the President’s Award, and the Best Teacher Award in Delhi, he slightly distanced himself from personal painting. Instead, he employed his skills to propagate art in the education field.
Approaching 90 years, he continues to practice yoga every morning, a habit ingrained in him since childhood.
