Born in New Delhi on 5th. November 1958. He acquired his BFA degree in Painting from College of Fine Arts, Delhi University, New Delhi in 1979. And since then, he has participated in a number of group shows at the state, national and international level. He was awarded central govt. national cultural scholarship to work under Prof. Somnath Hore, in Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan and acquired MFA degree in Graphics (printmaking). He was in Kala Bhavan from May 1981 to August 1983.
He was head of the Printmaking department in College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum, Kerala University, for nine years. Also served as; visiting lecturer; School of Planning and Architecture, New delhi, ex-professor and head of the Mass Communication department, Adamas University, Kolkata. Visiting professor in the department of Geography, Calcutta University. Sr. faculty in Santo-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. At present he is working as a Sr. faculty in the department of Media and Mass Communication, American International University-Bangladesh, Dhaka since 2006. He is also a photographer and documentary filmmaker. His writing has appeared in art journals and newspapers in India and abroad. He lives and works in India and Bangladesh.
