“I have seriously and single-mindedly endeavored to specialize in printmaking in all permutations and combinations. For me, the medium has an impersonality, or objectivity of effect, which has been appealing by its very intrinsic nature.
I learnt, through the instrumentality of the devices of printmaking, the impeccability of form and design, I learnt to rejoice my anthropomorphic associations with surroundings to translate the subtleties of printmaking into the body of the painting chaste. Texture, tones, surfaces have been my preoccupation as also my ways of relating to forms and spaces around. Colours, yes, but such as would go with contemporary sensibility and one that would be a just response to desiccated techno-culture conditions. Perhaps such compositions may not come easy for comprehension for those viewers who are still used to naïve narrative or referential art, My works aim at carrying forward the intelligent viewer to the visual truths implicit in a rapidly changing environment. After all, the artists’ task is to expand and renew our visual capabilities i.e. to see and make see. If not, there is decadence and regression on the sprit. I do my best to see that my works slowly concentrate, on details and nuances in form and colour. Certainly there is a visual music around, to be heard on the canvas, though I make sure that it is not loud.-Brahm Prakash”
