He has taught art &amp; design and has worked as a school administrator.Madhava opened a workshop in Battaramulla, where he designed and made furniture for three years before setting up his own company, Mahananda Lifestyles Pvt Ltd, where he makes bespoke furniture, arts &amp; crafts, and interior design products known for their art deco, vintage appearance and use of inlaid woods.<br>His work is sold in his retail store in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka and online. Every single piece of his workshop is made by hand by craftsmen who work with hardwood from sustainably managed process. Sustainability is one of his core values, and he strives to create sustainable furniture that is good for both people and the environment.In this current series, Madhava explores townscape as the starting point for two and three dimensional work.<br>He collects visual &amp; other information by observing his surroundings and by studying the methods &amp; approaches of local carpenters who use wood as the medium.
