Recipient of National Award in May 2022 “ Raja Ravi Varma Chitrakaar Award”, given by Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
My unique style embodies my mission statement “I do not paint what I see but what I want to see”. I am inspired by Impressionism and modernism resulting in my work which is very modern and contemporary. I love nature and taking that as my reference point I create my fantasy world or my Dreamscapes.
I work with ‘Impasto technique’ which means wet on wet in thick layers using palette knife, which make my paintings textured and very abstract with lot of play of colours.
Besides painting I recently diversified into wearable art or ‘Art to wear’ and launched my exclusive designer line of Signature Sarees, Scarves, Stoles, Pocket Squares and Ties in my Solo Show ‘Khwabeeda’ at Open Palm Court Gallery at India Habitat Centre. These Wearables are an extension of my canvas art onto Silks, Crepes’ and Modal and are limited-edition digital prints. Every piece is uniquely designed from my selected artwork and then digitally printed into a designer piece of Wearable Art. These will soon be available online for purchase on my website but as of now available directly through my social media.
I have had a privilege of participating in many prestigious shows and Art Fairs in India and abroad and my artworks are in private collection of many corporates, hotels, friend and family in India and abroad.
I am also practicing and teaching Mindfulness through Art and am a founder of “Creative Holistic tribe” helping women rediscover themselves by practicing Mindfulness.
