Having worked with one of India’s largest English language trade book publishers and heading their design team for more than a decade, has exposed me to the latest design trends from across the world. However, what gets me excited about design, even from the time when I was little, is nature, and more specifically flowers.
Flowers denote both beauty and magnificence, but they also stand for resilience, thriving even in the harshest of environments. In this collection, I reimagine flowers, devoid of colours. This approach takes me to a place where the outside ceases to exist, perceptions crumble and yet it’s a world where I feel the happiest as an artist.
My chosen medium—waterproof ink with smudged charcoal—is again dominated by natural elements.
